Common questions

My barcode did not scan

Some barcodes are printed small, faded or creased, which makes them hard to read. Try scanning in good light, hold the phone steady, and flatten the coupon if it is folded. If the barcode still will not scan, you can save the coupon with its photo and enter the barcode number manually — the original image is kept as a reference either way.

The app detected the wrong supermarket

Detection is based on the text visible on the coupon, and receipt vouchers in particular can be ambiguous. You can change the supermarket on the coupon’s detail screen at any time — the correction is saved immediately.

The expiry date is wrong

Expiry dates come from the printed text on the coupon and are occasionally misread, especially on thermal receipt paper. Open the coupon and edit the expiry date manually. It is worth double-checking dates on any coupon you are relying on.

A supermarket would not accept the digital version

Each retailer decides whether a scanned copy is accepted, and some coupons require the original paper version, a linked loyalty card, or other terms to be met. This is expected behaviour rather than an app fault — see our retailer acceptance page for details. Keep the paper coupon until it has been redeemed.

I want to delete my coupon data

Coupon Snap stores your coupons locally on your device. You can delete individual coupons in the app, or remove all data by deleting the app itself. If you joined the early access email list and want to be removed, email support@couponsnap.co.uk and we will delete your details.

Coupon Snap helps organise genuine coupons you have received. Retailer acceptance of digital copies may vary. Keep the original paper coupon until it has been successfully redeemed.
