Privacy Policy

Coupon Snap is designed to minimise data collection. The core app is intended to store coupon data locally on the user’s device unless future cloud backup features are introduced.

The short version: your coupons live on your phone. We do not sell personal data, we do not currently use analytics in the app, and the only personal information we hold is an email address if you choose to give us one.

Who operates Coupon Snap

Coupon Snap is operated independently in the United Kingdom. Coupon Snap is an independent coupon organiser and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any supermarket or retailer. You can contact us at support@couponsnap.co.uk.

What data the app may process

When you scan a coupon, the app may process the following on your device:

  • Coupon images — the photo you take of a coupon or voucher, kept so you have the original as a reference.
  • Barcode details — the barcode number and format read from the coupon, so you can find it again easily.
  • Expiry dates — detected or manually entered dates, used to sort coupons and power reminders.
  • Offer text — the offer description and detected supermarket name, used to label and organise your coupons.

This information describes the coupons you scan. The app does not ask for your name, address, payment details or loyalty card numbers.

Local-first storage

Coupon Snap is designed as a local-first app. Coupon images and details are stored on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers as part of the core scanning and organising features. If a cloud backup or sync feature is introduced in future, it will be clearly described in the app and this policy will be updated before it applies to you.

Optional email signup

If you join the early access list on this website, we collect your email address and, if you provide it, your first name. We use these only to send Coupon Snap updates. We do not sell or share this list. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing support@couponsnap.co.uk.

App permissions

  • Camera — used to photograph coupons and read barcodes. Images are captured only when you choose to scan.
  • Photo library — if you choose to import an existing photo of a coupon instead of using the camera, the app accesses only the image you select.
  • Notifications — used to send expiry reminders for coupons you have saved. Reminders are optional and can be turned off in your device settings.

The app does not request location, contacts or microphone access.

Analytics

Coupon Snap does not currently use analytics in the app. If this changes, this policy will be updated to explain what is collected and why.

No sale of personal data

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share coupon data with advertisers, retailers or data brokers.

Data deletion

Because coupon data is stored on your device, you are in control of it. You can delete individual coupons in the app, or remove all coupon data by deleting the app. To have your email removed from the early access list, contact support@couponsnap.co.uk and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Coupon Snap handles data, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will also be flagged in the app or by email if you are on the early access list.
